OE New short big main bearing cap bolt used on all 6.2L engines and 6.5L engines up to around 1998 1/2 used in quantity 10 per engine.

6.5 engines after 1998 1/2 just used this bolt on mains 1 and 5 outers only in quantity 4 per engine.

These replacement fasteners are not disposable Torque To Yield (TTY) bolts. There is a lot of confusion about the type of fastener used for the main bolts on the 6.2 and 6.5 Diesel engine. The confusion about TTY on these engines comes from the factory installation process that does not involve a torque number but instead a torque angle sequence (which a lot of TTY bolts use). Just because a torque angle is specified for final torque doesn’t make the fastener TTY.

Represented are the final revision of the fastener, this fastener may vary slightly from a units you have.

Consider these bolts when needed for a repair when some of the bolts are missing, damaged, found one broken, experienced too many torque cycles, or found to not hold proper torque when using a Torque Number (preferred) versus a Torque Angle.
