Warranty terms on this page provide details and limitations for the execution of warranty services for items purchased.
General Warranty Terms
Warranty Types
Warranty eligible products are either covered with an exchange-only warranty or repair warranty. Exchange warranty service requires than an item in consideration for warranty receive authorization and be returned for evaluation. After receipt of the warranty eligible item, and upon determination of a valid warranty claim a replacement item will sent to customer, limitations apply. Unique Diesel reserves the right in consideration of replacement or repair of items for warranty services. Replacement cannot be sent out before the original item is returned.
Warranty Duration
Duration of warranty is measured in calendar days and the effective start date is the date that unit shows as delivered to the shipping address on the order via tracking number. If tracking services are unavailable then the order date applies as the start date of warranty coverage. Warranty duration is determined by product type, reference product heading on this warranty page for product type. On individual products with product options (selections) the warranty is determined by customer selection of product options viewable with the product listing on final invoice. Warranty options made as a selection on a product take precedence over all other warranty eligibility and duration statements.
Warranty Eligibility
Some items sold have no warranty coverage, reference product type category to determine this limitation. Items sold with core deposit charges are ineligible for warranty services until an appropriate core is received against the order. Items damaged during shipping are ineligible for warranty services, these items must go through the process parcel loss claim for damage. Item use is application sensitive to remain warranty eligible, automotive components cannot service marine, and marine components cannot service automotive, product will be designated for its application. To utilize warranty services both the item(s) and the customer must be eligible. Limitations on eligibility for warranty services is determined by days elapsed since delivery or purchase date, and a customer's eligibility to receive exchange services requires remaining in compliance with policies uniquediesel.com/policypage.
Warranty Diagnostics
Warranty eligible items are handled by the exchange or repair of the part itself and do not include technical product services to test and diagnose a part installed on an engine or vehicle. In requesting warranty coverage by the customer a customer service agent will require customer-provided diagnostic information applicable to a warranty claim to record symptoms and make a recommendation to the customer for initiating a warranty claim or recommend paid troubleshooting services. Warranty eligible items do not include technical product support, as this extends beyond the scope of an individual part.

Non-Transferable Warranty
All warranty eligible products have a non-transferable end-user warranty, claims for warranty available only to the original purchaser. The end-user warranty applies to purchasers that are engaged in automotive repair, or have custody of the vehicle the product is installed into.
Requests for warranty service must be from the original purchaser whose name and email address as used on the order are required to match. This information will be verified by customer service before authorizing exchange warranty services.
Warranty services are void on products that have been resold by a purchaser engaged in parts retail including auto parts stores, wholesale distributors, and exporters.

CORE Requirement For Warranty
Warranty eligible products that are either re-manufactured or new that have a CORE deposit attached to the item with a product option selection require that the used matching-item to what was purchased be returned to Unique Diesel for processing to remain warranty eligible. We cannot provide repair and replacement services when we do not have parts for repair use, not returning a core limits our ability to service items.
The following scenarios exist in regards to warranty eligibility contingent on CORE Return.
1) The CORE was provided before product shipped, or the CORE was received during return time frame.
If the matching-item CORE was provided in advance before product was ordered or shipped the purchased item is immediately warranty eligible. If the matching-item CORE item was returned during the duration of time specified and either received the core deposit refund or did not due to core condition criteria the replacement item is warranty eligible at the time the CORE was processed.
2) The CORE was provided after return time frame and not issued a CORE deposit refund.
A matching-item CORE return can be received outside of the CORE deposit refund time frame and still satisfy the conditions of a CORE return for warranty eligibility. The CORE must be received and processed before any contact about a warranty claim has occurred to qualify. Matching-item cores are accepted in this situation regardless of CORE condition criteria to enable warranty eligibility.
3) The CORE will be sent immediately before Warranty claim or with Warranty claim item.
4) No CORE provided against a potential warranty claim
If no CORE is provided against an order where a CORE is required there will be no warranty services available for that item. This is a non-negotiable term and condition of warranty service.

Warranty Claim Handling
Most products ship directly from Unique Diesel while some products are drop shipped from a distributor. The source of handling the item for delivery primarily determines the process of warranty services. At request from customer for warranty services, customer service will confirm and advise on the process required for the product.
1) Items shipped from and warrantied by Unique Diesel.
Exchange warranty requires that customer contact Unique Diesel customer service and make the request for warranty service. Upon return authorization customer will be responsible for shipping the item at the customer's expense to Unique Diesel using the address provided by customer service. Item will be evaluated and considered for warranty replacement depending on the item type. On a valid warranty claim Unique Diesel will replace item and ship replacement at own expense, except items shipped internationally where the customer is responsible for return shipping of warranty replaced item.
2) Items shipped from Unique Diesel, warrantied by distributor.
Exchange warranty requires that customer contact Unique Diesel customer service and make the request for warranty service. Upon return authorization customer will be responsible for filling out distributor warranty request paperwork and for shipping the item at the customer's expense to Distributor using the address provided by customer service. Item will be evaluated and considered for warranty replacement depending on the item type. On a valid warranty claim Distributor will replace item and ship replacement at own expense, except items shipped internationally where replacement item will be sent to Unique Diesel then be exported to the customer, export shipping costs at the responsibility of the customer. Unique Diesel reserves the right to process a service fee to facilitate warranty claims made against products sold where the vendor or manufacturer handles the actual warranty service, primarily in situations of multiple warranty claims.
3) Items shipped from and warrantied by Distributor.
Exchange warranty requires that customer contact Unique Diesel customer service and make the request for warranty service. Customer will be provided with details needed to contact distributor and coordinate warranty services with the distributor. This exchange warranty process is used on products that are marked with "Drop Ship" in the stocking status location of a product, viewable on the invoice.

Warranty Claims Denied
In the processing of a warranty claim for a received item directly at Unique Diesel or a Distributor a claim may be denied for coverage due to no problems found with the item, damage to the item caused by another source, or the item is ineligible for warranty service due to damage, alteration, or tampering.
Items returned for warranty service and denied as claim invalid will not be replaced or repaired and the item will be returned to the customer at customer's expense. Customer service will summarize reason for the denied claim and coordinate the return of items to be returned to a customer by collecting shipping costs.
On items that are required to be tested on specialized mechanical or electronic test equipment a customer may be responsible for diagnostic costs when the results of the testing prove the item undergoing a warranty claim is not defective. Testing requirements for warranty service is listed within the category for the item type.

Warranty Item Type - New Internal Engine Components
Internal engine components are specialized components that are located inside (and including) the engine block and cylinder heads. Items that are sub-components of a long block engine assembly qualify for this item type category.
Exchange warranty for items found defective at receipt only, limited to 30-days from purchase, other scenarios carry no warranty.
Please inspect internal engine components sold prior to their installation or use, these items include pistons and rings, gaskets and seals, connecting rods, oil pumps, hydraulic lifters, crankshafts, camshafts, push rods, timing chain sets, and ALL Engine Bearings.

Warranty Item Type - External Engine Components
Bolt-On and install able engine components are warranted through Unique Diesel for the following terms. All warranty claims must have documentation (pictures) of item in it's installed manner and be returned to Unique Diesel for evaluation. Need to see what the fitment issue or leaking issue is. Items with mandatory core return deposit must have had a core return or will have the core returned at time of warranty processing to be warranty eligible.
General Replacement Parts and Components
90-Day Exchange warranty applies to cover general components sold on this store that are not referenced separately within another policy or specifically noted in the product's description.

Warranty Item Type - Turbocharger Assemblies
1-Year Repair warranty on re-manufactured turbocharger assemblies, must be evaluated to find the cause failure before warranty is offered. Unique Diesel will either repair or replace item if found to be at fault. Turbo failure due to excessive heat (damaged turbine blades) shrapnel damage or issues with lubrication system are not covered. Turbos returned will be inspected by an authorized turbo re-manufacturer for a professional evaluation.
90-Day Repair warranty on new aftermarket turbocharger assemblies, must be evaluated to find the cause failure before warranty is offered. Unique Diesel will either repair or replace item if found to be at fault. Turbo failure due to excessive heat (damaged turbine blades) shrapnel damage or issues with lubrication system are not covered. Turbos returned will be inspected by an authorized turbo re-manufacturer for a professional evaluation.

If an item is found to be ineligible for warranty repair customer may be responsible for diagnostic tear down and inspection of unit, and return shipping expenses. During report of findings, a quotation will be provided to repair the unit, should customer accept repair expenses the cost of the diagnostic tear down inspection of the unit will be waived.

Warranty Item Type - New DB2 Fuel Injection Pumps
New Stanadyne DB2 injection pump warranty eligibility is determined by the process that the pump was provided to the customer determined by product option selection made during purchase.
Tested or Calibrated By Unique Diesel
180-Day (6-month nominal) Repair Warranty New Injection pumps that are tested, or calibrated as the result of a purchase are warrantied by Unique Diesel
Non-Tested Non-Calibrated
1-Year Repair warranty on New Injection Pumps that are provided with no testing and no calibration, these are "boxed" injection pumps as provided by Stanadyne. These pumps carry the manufacturers original warranty only which is 1-year repair warranty at an authorized Stanadyne repair facility. The invoice sales date determines warranty eligibility duration and will be needed by Stanadyne to process a warranty claim. Unique Diesel is not an Authorized Stanadyne fuel injection repair facility and cannot assist with in-warranty services. Warranty services must be sourced independently by customer.
Repairs made on new Stanadyne injection pumps void manufacturer warranty, if repairs are requested they can be quoted then performed at customer expense as a non-warranty repair only.

Warranty Item Type - Flight Diesel DS4 Fuel Injection Pumps
1-Year Exchange Warranty on Flight Diesel DS4 Fuel Injection Pumps with warranty services coordinated by Unique Diesel and processed by Flight Diesel and requires warranty authorization paperwork. Warranty processing must be initiated through Unique Diesel. Removal of the Pump Mounted Driver (PMD) from the Injection Pump voids warranty on the entire assembly.

Warranty Item Type - Radiator Products
180-Days (6-months nominal) repair warranty on Unique Diesel branded radiator products. Limited warranty covers against leaks of coolant externally from the radiator and against internal leaks of oil and transmission coolers that are integrated into the radiator assembly. Unique Diesel at option may repair or replace a radiator assembly at it's discretion, return of suspect radiator in good condition is required for warranty processing.
Warranty Limitations
Radiator is required to be installed with care without damage to radiator core tubing and fins. The radiator is required to be filled with original vehicle specified antifreeze of either Ethylene Glycol (Green) or Dexcool, with no mixing of antifreeze types and using a 50/50 antifreeze to distilled water solution. If previous cooling system is contaminated with rust or mixed coolant the previous cooling system is required to be flushed and cleaned prior to radiator replacement. Radiator cap for cooling system should be inspected and replaced and should not exceed 16psi. Hose clamp connections should be the spring-clamp type when used on upper-radiator hoses and accessory hoses. Lower radiator hose may be a worm-gear type clamp due to access. Claims against radiators in the even of a cracked hose connection will be declined when hose used is not secured with a spring-clamp.

Warranty Item Type - New Long Block Engines
AM General New Long blocks are only sold with no warranty. As an AM General Powertrain Partner we are required to inform customers that new engines provided for commercial service (non-military) are excluded from warranty services as a term of the manufacturer. AM General nor Unique Diesel provides a warranty for new replacement long blocks.

Warranty Item Type - New Running Long Block Engines
180 Days (6-month nominal) repair warranty on New Running Long Block engine assemblies. Fuel system or cooling system sub-components of the engine assembly can be have warranty services performed on them individually. All warranty services on this assembly are parts-only.
New running long block engines start off as a new Long Block that matches the vehicle application or customer specification. The long block is then minimally equipped with new cooling system and new or re-manufactured fuel system components that match the vehicle application or customer specification. The minimal components become part of the engine assembly that will included and be delivered to the customer. The long block engine will then have temporary supplemental hardware added to it to support the engine being operationally run and checked on engine test stand. On the test stand the engine will be checked on several criteria, and have the fuel injection timing properly set using specific timing equipment to specification. These are the only format of long block engines with a warranty because we can test and ensure the engine is correct with good fuel and cooling system, defective fuel system and cooling system components can damage a good engine.
Installation Requirements
Engine assembly must be professionally installed by a qualified mechanic holding an ASE Certification at an automotive business location, proof of this is required. The external engine oil cooling system must be completely flushed or replaced. External engine oil cooler must be removed from chassis and or radiator containing engine coil cooler and be flushed completely by a radiator repair shop with proper capability, receipt required. Engine oil cooler lines must be solvent flushed and compressed air dried to ensure any debris is removed from engine oil cooler system.
